John Carter

John Carter was never that intrigued by the brokerage side of the trading world. Instead, he liked to try and test various online trading strategies through his college and well into his corporate jobs. He became quite adept at making money and keeping money in his day trading account. The road was not always easy and John learned his lesson the hard way like many day traders out there.

Tony Saliba came to the floor of the Chicago Board Options Exchange in 1978. After a half-year of clerking, Saliba was ready to try it on his own. He found another trader to back him for $50,000, and after a favorable start, nearly self-destructed. He pulled back from the brink of disaster by altering his trading techniques, and has been successful ever since. Saliba’s trading style can be described as trying to do a little better than treading water day in, day out, while being positioned to take advantage of the rare spectacular trading opportunity. Mark Etzhorn

Mark Etzkorn has spent a dozen years in the financial markets as a journalist, researcher, trader, and broker. His unique insight on the markets is the result of first-hand trading experience and years of research and reporting. Mark began his career on the floor of the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), where he apprenticed in the index and equity options pits. He then became a member of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), where he traded and worked as a broker in the S&P 500 futures and options. Mark also served as senior associate editor at Futures magazine, writing extensively on technical analysis, trading systems, and software. He developed a reputation for straightforward, insightful reporting and analysis. His well-received 1996 series of articles on system design and testing was reprinted internationally. He is now a contributing editor at Futures and continues to write and edit books and articles on trading. Mark’s technical analysis and trading book, Trading with Oscillators: Pinpointing Market Extremes, was published in 1998 by Wiley & Sons. He is also one of the players for TradingMarkets in early 2000s.
